Action Research, Here I Come! Week 2 homework response.
After completing the second week of my Ed. Admin. homework I was beginning to realize that selecting an action research topic isn't impossible but it just takes practice. Having an opportunity to explore nine different varieties of action research with the creation of my own 9 research proposals really opens up the possibility outside of the classroom. There were a few basic tips that I discovered from this weeks homework. The first is that when doing action research, don't be surprised if your topic starts off broad, but then narrows down as you get into the research. The second thing that I discovered is that you want to look around at what other schools or administrators have published in terms of studies similar to your own. I am starting to gather resources for my own project and literature review and right now I have about 9 journals and case studies that will be reading as I prepare to focus on my literature review. The final thing that I discovered is that it pays to start thinking early about the topic at hand and how to begin to structure the research project. The more you can educate yourself about the topic, the layout of the project itself and the basic guidelines to follow, the less panic you will experience as you work on it.

Week two has really opened up my eyes to how indeprt this research project will be. I started off with one question that drew me in an almost totally different direction. I must admit, I'm a little scared of really digging in but I will read others blogs in hopes that we can all aide and assist one another.
